They’re oils neither have the same physical consistencies nor similar nutritional properties. Cod oil has served millions of children in the past and still being sold in the market today. But there is something in fish oil that makes it superior to cod liver oil. It has Omega-3.

But what is considered as the best fish oil of them all? All fish oil manufacturers will claim that they have the best products in town. But if we consider individual differences, what others consider best for them may not the best for us. However, if the amount of Omega-3 present in the product is going to be the basis for evaluation, then the outcome will depend on the ORAC test. The test will help determine the amount of antioxidants present in a certain products. In case of fish oils, the presence of antioxidants is based on the quantity of Omega-3. The more Omega-3 a certain product contains the more antioxidants it has. It may be safe to say that the product with more Omega-3 has more antioxidants and therefore more superior to the rest.

Not all fish oil contains Omega-3; only fatty fishes have it. Some of the fishes that contain Omega-3 are tuna, sardines, halibut, mackerel, and so on. So if we are going to buy fish oil we must be sure to read the contents carefully. If it doesn’t contain Omga-3, it’s of no use to us at all, because it lacks the necessary nutritional values that our body needs.

The antioxidants found in Omega-3 aid the body in many ways. Its ability to help treat several diseases like, cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular among others, have made fish oil important among health buffs. Although the label claims that it doesn’t have any medicinal properties, the testimonies of its countless users bear witness to its effectiveness against their struggle in overcoming their maladies.

Omega-3 is a good weight loss substance as well. It has thermogenic properties which is responsible in melting fat cells inside us. Its cleansing effects also help in removing the fats together with impurities from our body not only making us slimmer but also healthier at the same time. It’s difficult for other food supplements to match the health benefits that fish oil bestows on our body.
